10 Biggest Missed Opportunities In Horror Movie History
6. Freddy Vs. Jason Vs. Ash
Following the success of 2003's horror crossover Freddy vs. Jason, a 2007 comic book sequel was produced in which The Evil Dead's Ash Williams was added to the fray - Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash.
The comic proved a hit with horror fans, and so New Line Cinema sought to adapt Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash into a live-action sequel to Freddy vs. Jason.
However, the project ultimately stalled due to creative differences between New Line and Evil Dead star Bruce Campbell, who expressed frustration with the limitations imposed by the studio - namely that neither Freddy nor Jason could be killed by Ash.
These constraints led to the project never moving forward, and while it nevertheless lives on in the form of two comic book series, fans lament that they never got to see Ash throwing down with Freddy and Jason in live-action form.
With Campbell and Robert Englund now both retired as Ash and Freddy respectively, while the Friday the 13th franchise remains on ice, it's safe to say that this ship sadly sailed a good while ago. What a waste.
