2. M3GAN - M3GAN 2.0
Given that the first M3GAN ended with the demise of the murderously protective AI doll, fans were desperate to find out how the impending sequel, M3GAN 2.0, would find a way to bring her back. And as it turns out, filmmaker Gerard Johnstone has taken a page out of Terminator 2's book by reimagining M3GAN as a kick-ass anti-hero.
The sequel, which takes place two years after the first film, kicks off with M3GAN's advanced technology being stolen and used by a defense contractor to build a military robot called Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno), which predictably becomes self-aware and attempts to take over the world. And so, faced with no other option, M3GAN's creator Gemma (Allison Williams) decides to rebuild an upgraded M3GAN to battle Amelia and, hopefully, save the world.
It's a hilariously loony way to one-up the original film's premise, and while it's reasonable to assume that M3GAN won't be a squeaky clean hero, she'll nevertheless be fighting on the side of humanity.
