10 Most Anticipated Horror Movies For The Rest Of 2025

1. Five Nights at Freddy's 2

Five Nights at Freddy's 2
Blumhouse

Blumhouse's adaptation of the hit video game Five Nights at Freddy's may not have been a critical hit, but it sure went down a storm with audiences, especially fans of the games, which is what the studio will evidently care about most. And with the first film making almost $300 million at the box office, it was little surprise to see a sequel materialise barely two years later.

The second film will pick up with former security guard Mike (Josh Hutcherson) and police officer Vanessa (Elizabeth Lail) trying to move past the events of the first, only to face off against Freddy Fazbear once again.

With a budget more than twice that of the original, the sequel certainly looks more lavish and visually elaborate, though hopefully director Emma Tammi will also be able to infuse more genuine scares this time around.

After all, a PG-13 rating is no excuse for tame horror - just look at what Gore Verbinski did with The Ring remake.

Five Nights at Freddy's 2 releases on December 5.
