10 Most Anticipated Horror Movies For The Rest Of 2025
2. Deathgasm II: Goremageddon
2015's New Zealand horror romp Deathgasm has endured as something of a cult classic over the past decade, its acclaimed blend of face-melting horror-comedy thrills ensuring that filmmaker Jason Lei Howden swiftly announced plans for a sequel.
Years of stalled development followed before a Kickstarter was launched for Deathgasm II: Goremageddon, which ultimately raised $325,554 - far more than the $300,000 goal.
This time around, returning protagonist Brodie (Milo Cawthorne) will resurrect his dead bandmates for Metal Quest - a Battle of the Bands-esque competition - while a ripper of a musical score will be provided by Trivium frontman Matthew Kiichi Heafy.
Howden has promised that the first 10 minutes of the movie will feature more gore than the entirety of the original Deathgasm, which should be enough alone to sell this one.
While it'll take some doing to live up to 10 years of fan hype, Howden's enthusiasm is infectious, making it hella easy to root for this one.
Deathgasm II: Goremageddon releases sometime later this year.
