10 Most Vile Villains From Recent Horror Movies

1. Art The Clown - Terrifier 3

Terrifier 3 Art the Clown

Ever since mute killer clown Art took sawing a woman in half to another realm in the 2016 original Terrifier (a moment for Dawn, please), we know exactly what limitless level of satanic slaughter to expect from the silent sadist. A moment also for Allie from Terrifier 2, please.

Art doesn't let us down by adding another bloody Jackson Pollock-esque masterpiece to his criminal collection with the infamous shower scene involving Mia and Cole in Damien Leone's third insane Terrifier instalment, where we find Art is simply having a wonderful Christmastime.

In some ways, the build-up to the actual attack is just as uncomfortable when the camera slowly pans from the two young lovebirds enjoying some nookie in a shower cubicle, to Art - dressed appropriately as Jolly Old Saint Nick - having a slash at one of the nearby urinals. Little is left to our imaginations when Art subsequently removes a chainsaw from his Santa Sack, ready to deliver his unique brand of festive frivolity to the unsuspecting couple. Again, a moment for Cole, please, but maybe not so much for Mia, who was a bit of an insensitive d**k towards Sienna and Jonathan.

In between the gallons of gore, what also makes Art such an iconic horror character are the moments of normal behaviour. It's surreal seeing him enjoy the milk and cookies after an exhausting time butchering a family to death, then washing up afterwards. It's hilarious when he acts like an overexcited child around Santa Claus at the bar, so overexcited that he wets himself sitting on Santa's knee, before brutally freezing him with liquid Nitrogen. It's strangely sweet when he hands out Christmas presents to the excitable children at the shopping mall, then blows them up with a bomb.

Joy to the world, indeed.
