10 Recent Horror Movies That Didn't Deserve To Bomb

Kyle Mooney's Y2K wasn't a great movie by any means, but it was an entertainingly ridiculous sci-fi comedy-horror that offered up some fun kills while mining our collective nostalgia for the early 2000s.

Despite an inspired premise centered around turn-of-the-millennium alarmism and distribution courtesy of A24, Y2K grossed a brutal $4.5 million against its $15 million price tag. It's a rough performance any way you slice it, especially as A24 released Y2K in more than 2,000 North American cinemas, where it made over 99% of its money, while largely being sent out to die - if even released at all - internationally.

Again, hardly a brilliant movie that fully capitalised on its potential, but Y2K did deliver some goofy laughs, crazy deaths, and an all-timer cameo from Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst, none of which was apparently enough to lure nostalgic millennials out of their homes.

Then again, that a film this bonkers even exists at all is probably something to be grateful for.
