10 Twisted Horror Movies That Go Way Too Far

9. Alien Vs Predator: Requiem

Both Alien and Predator have seen a reinvigoration of sorts over the last few years, the former with Alien: Romulus and Alien: Earth, and the latter with Dan Trachtenberg's Prey, Killer of Killers, and Badlands. However, 20 years ago, both franchises were at their absolute lowest points.

Nobody liked Alien Vs Predator, and somehow less than nobody liked the sequel, Requiem, and still wouldn't have even if they could have seen what was going on. There is just one moment that sticks out in the film as gratuitous, unnecessary, and downright disturbing.

After the Yautja/Xenomorph hybrid (cleverly named the Predalien) landed on Earth, it sought out a maternity ward and, as the original alien did back in 1979 with John Hurt's Kane, impregnated every expectant mother there. There was no real reason for its targets to be an entire ward of heavily pregnant and entirely vulnerable women, but here we are.

The monster could have attacked anyone and anything to get the point across, but to have it attack the hospital in such a way, and to have its offspring devour the near full-term unborn children, was distasteful and disgraceful. No, the prospect of future crossover AvP events didn't exactly have much of a future anyway, but this scene just compounded that this was for the best.
