20 AWFUL Horror Movie Moments You Wish You Could Forget
7. Winnie The Pooh Blood & Honey: The Opening Scene
Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey immediately gained attention for turning a beloved children's character into a bloodthirsty slasher movie villain - well, that's one way of utilizing a property that's just entered the public domain. It ensured a larger-than-expected viewing audience for... one of the worst horror movies of the decade, maybe even the century.
Normally, a low-budget British indie horror doing so well financially and even launching a franchise would be a triumph, here it's a tragedy and one can tell from the very beginning.
In this sequence, Christopher Robin (Nikolai Leon) and his fiancée Mary (Paula Coiz) visit his old home of the Hundred Acres Wood and are ambushed by Winnie the Pooh and Piglet, who have turned into vengeful killers after Christopher Robin left them to go to college. These sequence sums up everything wrong with the movie better than a review ever could.
The loo roll of the script, the flat acting, the groan-worthy low-budget costumes, the clunky direction, the general tastelessness of the whole thing... viewers will immediately know they're about to suffer through a historically bad horror film. That's if they didn't turn it off as soon as this opening concluded which, come to think of it, some might've done.
