20 AWFUL Horror Movie Moments You Wish You Could Forget
6. Halloween Resurrection: "Trick Or Treat, Motherf**ker!"
From one notorious early-2000s slasher sequel to another, it's time to talk about Halloween: Resurrection, which is widely considered to be the nadir of the series. That's not exactly unreasonable.
There are plenty of regrettable moments throughout the Halloween movies. The twist that Michael and Laurie are siblings, Halloween V's infamous cliff-hanger ending, that ridiculous cult subplot from Halloween 6, all of Halloween II's (2009) pretentious dream sequences, "Evil dies tonight!" in Halloween Kills, the unacceptable side-lining of Michael and Laurie in Halloween Ends... the list goes on.
2002's Halloween: Resurrection has more awful moments than any of the others, including a ridiculous ret-conning of Michael's death in the previous film and Michael weightlessly killing off Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) at the beginning. Impressively, though, there's a particular moment so appalling that anything else is overshadowed: Busta Rhymes yelling "Trick or treat, motherf**ker!" in the most jarring way imaginable and karate-kicking Michael Myers out of a window.
Between Rhymes' awful acting and one of the most terrifying horror movie villains ever being made to look like an incompetent idiot, everything about this is painful to watch in the extreme. No further Halloween movies were made in this continuity and that's not surprising; there was no coming back from this.
