20 AWFUL Horror Movie Moments You Wish You Could Forget

3. Jaws The Revenge: Finale

Jaws The Revenge
Universal Pictures

No franchise has ever fallen as far as Jaws. It began with one of the greatest films ever made only to conclude with one of the worst films ever made - Jaws: The Revenge, an unbearable sequel that isn't even so-bad-it's-good. Fittingly, it has one of the weakest horror movie finales out there too.

For starters, it doesn't even feel like a finale. There's pretty much no tension or action, while the thing that kills the shark is... Ellen Brody (Lorraine Gary) driving the boat's bowsprit into it. It then explodes, for some reason or another. Therefore, it's an unacceptably dull climax, and what makes it even worse is how stupid it is.

The shark eats a plane. Hoagie (Michael Caine) emerges from the water completely dry. The shark looks fake even by Jaws standards. The ocean set is so primitive you can see the water breaking on the painted walls in the distance. And, of course, there's the moment where the shark rears out of the water, balances of its fin and roars like a lion. Sharks don't roar, they don't have vocal chords!

Still, we'll also have the original.
