20 AWFUL Horror Movie Moments You Wish You Could Forget
17. It Chapter Two: The Witch
It: Chapter Two is a very weak horror sequel indeed, more so than you might remember. As well as being overlong and overstuffed, it was also a failure in the scares department - nowhere more so than here.
In this sequence, Beverly (Jessica Chastain) goes to her childhood home and finds an old woman living there, only for it to turn out that this woman is a witch and a form that It / Pennywise (Bill Skarsgard) has taken. This scene was in the book so it had a reason to be in the movie, it's just that they adapted it in the worst-possible way.
A giant, naked crone rendered in godawful CGI running towards Beverly in the goofiest of ways... many Disney films are considerably scarier and no, that's not hyperbole. I mean, have you seen the original Snow White?
This was far from the only iffy moment in It: Chapter Two - there was also that scene where Juice Newton's Angel of the Morning started blaring out when Pennywise was attacking Eddie (James Ransome) - but this is definitely the movie's lowest point.
