In this splatter horror, a group of mercenaries kidnaps Abigail, who's the daughter of powerful crime lord Kristoff Lazaar. When the innocent-looking girl is exposed as a centuries-old vampire, the kidnappers realise their chances of surviving until morning are slim.

None of these mercenaries is pure of heart, including Joey, who's neglected her son for years. Even so, she's the best of a bunch, since she's the only person to show Abigail any empathy. Though the rest view Abigail as evil, Joey theorises the pint-sized vamp only kills to win her father's affection.

Abigail respects Joey's kindness, which is why she agrees to join her when another mercenary, Frank, turns into a far more dangerous vampire. 

While Abigail could return to her murder spree once Frank is eliminated, she decides not to. After bonding with Joey, Abigail perceives her as the supportive parent she'd always wanted. And when Kristoff barges in and threatens to butcher Joey, Abigail points out that Joey was there for her when nobody else was. After making a compelling case, Kristoff allows Joey to walk free. 

Joey may not think much of herself, but her kindness towards a vampire ultimately saved her life.
