20 Horror Movie Scenes That Make Absolutely No Sense

8. Army Of The Dead - Everything Katie Did

Final Destination 3 Mary Elizabeth Winstead
Netflix

Plot: A heist crew, led by Scott (Dave Bautista), go into a zombie-ridden Las Vegas to retrieve some money.

Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead is a dreadful, illogical flick even at the best of times, but nothing - or rather, no one - will drive viewers crazier than Katie (Ella Purnell), Scott's insufferable daughter. As well as being generally irritating, she's constantly making baffling decisions that get the movie's other, far more likable characters killed.

Katie wasn't originally in the heist team; rather, she insists on tagging along because she knows a friend of hers, Geeta (Huma Qureshi), is in there. So, she goes in with no training, no equipment, and no guaranteed way of finding Geeta.

Eventually, Katie makes the inexplicable choice to sneak off on her own, and though she does, miraculously, find Geeta, the other characters have to delay their escape to find her, and as a result, all of the remaining heroes, even Geeta herself, die. Except for Katie, the one responsible. Boo!

Katie's choices were not only inexplicable, they were also jaw-droppingly selfish, and this makes her easily one of the most detestable, insufferable characters in any recent horror movie. Not even woman-of-the-moment Ella Purnell, a normally delightful performer, can make her likable, and that really says it all.
