20 Horror Movie Scenes That Make Absolutely No Sense
7. Halloween 5: The Revenge Of Michael Myers - The Hermit
Plot: A year after his previous rampage, Michael Myers returns to Haddonfield in pursuit of his young niece.
This might just be the single-biggest head scratcher in the entire Halloween series, and that's really saying something, as, alongside the aforementioned empty hospital in 1981's Halloween II, there are a lot of silly moments in those sequels. No wonder John Carpenter and David Gordon Green decided to ignore all of them when making the Blumhouse trilogy.
As this movie's opening shows, Michael did manage to escape from the mine shaft he was seen in at the end of Halloween 4, and he was then swept away by a river. He comes across a hermit and attacks him, before collapsing. We jump ahead a year, where Michael has been kept in the hermit's hut for the past year. What?!
Why did the Hermit take in this scary, blood-covered masked man who attacked him? How did he provide proper medical care for a comatose patient in a hut with no proper equipment? How did he feed Michael? How did he take care of things when Michael needed to... you know, go to the toilet?
So many questions, not a single answer is given.
