20 Horror Movie Scenes That Make Absolutely No Sense

6. Alien: Covenant - The Never-Ending Bad Decisions

Final Destination 3 Mary Elizabeth Winstead
Fox

Plot: A group of colonists answers a distress signal on a mysterious planet, where they discover the sinister android David (Michael Fassbender) and several deadly creatures, all of whom are early versions of the Xenomorph created by David.

Alien: Covenant ends on a massive downer, with David in control of a ship of thousands of sleeping colonists and most of the crew dead. And, at the risk of sounding mean, it's hard to feel sorry for them. They brought it on themselves.

This crew of supposedly capable scientists went onto an unfamiliar alien planet with no helmets or proper protection and proceeded to mess about with the wildlife, another one's shooting aim was so bad she blew up an entire ship with herself inside it when a Xenomorph attacked her, and the captain leaned into a hatching alien egg at David's instructions even though he now knew David was a killer.

Having said all of this, nothing compares to the ending, where David successfully fools the remaining crew members into letting him onto their ship. They had an android who was identical to David, so did it not occur to them that David might disguise himself this way? They should've done some sort of check.

If such incompetent people really were left in charge of a ship of colonists, everyone would be doomed.
