20 Horror Movies Everyone Remembers For Just One Scene
10. Terrifier - The Hacksaw
Terrifier 2 and 3 are full of memorable scenes, ones that you'll never be able to forget even though you'd probably like to. The original Terrifier, however, is a different kettle of fish altogether, as that one is painfully forgettable, and though Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton) has grown into one of the greatest horror villains ever, he's actually pretty 'whatever' in this first outing.
Basically, there's only one bit anyone will particularly remember, which is one of the many reasons that Terrifier 2's success was such a shock. Interestingly, said moment also hinted towards the main thing that would make Terrifier 2 so huge: the envelope-pushing gore.
In this sequence, Art the Clown hangs Dawn (Catherine Corcoran), the best friend of protagonist Tara (Jenna Kanell), upside down and, using a hacksaw, saws her vertically in half from the crotch downwards, all while forcing Tara to watch... just thinking of this gives one the shudders. It's powerful stuff, tasteless though it is, and it's the one scene in the movie that'll really get much of a reaction from most audience members.
