9. The Devil Inside - The Worst Horror Ending Ever
The Devil Inside was always going to be bad, but it didn't have to be quite so infamous. The thing is, most of it is a crushingly dull, cliched found-footage horror that most won't be able to remember the majority of, even if they watched it a week ago. It just so happens to contain what is arguably the worst ending in horror movie history.
It cuts to black mid-set-piece, viewers are greeted with a title card explaining that the case of the Rossi Family is still unresolved, and it directs viewers to... a weblink for further information. Seriously? Endings simply do not get more offensive than this, and, as this absolutely blew up the box office despite its terrible reviews, that means that many millions of cinemagoers got flipped off in the worst way.
Once again, most of this is forgettable, tropey slop, but because The Devil Inside ended in the worst way imaginable, it is a movie that everyone still remembers even now, over a decade on - though coming up with one of the worst film endings ever certainly isn't a good way to get in the history books, that's for sure.
