20 Horror Movies That Were JUST Announced
6. Alone In The Dark Reboot
Alone in the Dark is one of the most iconic horror IP in video game history, and so it's hardly surprising that the film industry is taking another crack at adapting it after 2005's Uwe Boll-directed atrocity so thoroughly squandered its potential.
But here's something just about nobody saw coming - this new Alone in the Dark movie will also be directed by Uwe Boll.
Boll, who became infamous in the 2000s for his many terrible adaptations of beloved video games such as House of the Dead, BloodRayne, Dungeon Siege, and even Far Cry, has somehow managed to option the rights to the video game series once again for a new movie.
Boll, who retired from filmmaking in 2016 to become a restauranteur and subsequently un-retired in 2022, will be adapting the new movie from the 2024 video game starring David Harbour and Jodie Comer, though it goes without saying that neither actor will be involved with this production.
Boll is also keen to expand his Alone in the Dark universe into a TV series, but we'll have to wait and see about that.
