Taron Egerton is on many folks' wishlist to play a rebooted version of Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but in case that doesn't pan out, he's imminently set to play a werewolf in the new horror film Alpha.

Netflix recently won a bidding war for the project, which revolves around a mild-mannered American analyst who climbs the ranks of a London investment firm only to discover that there's a monster hiding inside him.

The film has been described as an "elevated genre title" which will explore "toxic masculinity, greed, and the mythos of success," and has been dubbed a cross-breed of American Psycho, the TV series Industry, and American Werewolf in London. It certainly doesn't sound subtle, but it does sound fun.

No word yet on who will be directing Alpha, but given Egerton's penchant for giving it his all to intense characters, this sure seems like a fine fit for him.
