I Know What You Did Last Summer 2025

At the end of July, less than a week before it was due to release on Amazon Prime Video, a trailer dropped for a new screenlife take on H.G. Wells' sci-fi opus War of the Worlds.

While the idea had potential, the fact that it was shot in 2020 and spent five years sitting on a shelf, was then being dumped on streaming with no fanfare, and starred Ice Cube of all folk - hardly an inspired choice - made it hard to expect anything less than a sheer trainwreck.

Indeed, War of the Worlds 2025 was an utter calamity - a horribly directed screenlife disaster packed with naff stock footage, atrocious VFX, embarrassing Amazon product placement, and a Razzie-worthy performance from Cube himself.

It was near-universally panned by critics and remains by far the worst "major" release of the year so far, likely ensuring that many Razzies will be in its future, as just about anyone who saw the trailer before release could've anticipated.
