Welcome to the hellish world of Pinhead and the rest of the Cenobites.
Based on the first three movies in the Hellraiser franchise, experience all the iconic moments. Will you make it through the labyrinth or will the Cenobites take you for their own devilish pleasures?
The Hype:
What a house!
This was everything that you could want for in a Halloween Horror Nights house and was the perfect representation of Hellraiser.
This house was unsettling and immersive in the best possible way. When you first meet Pinhead he welcomes you in, with the actor following you across the room. Multiple people told me they felt like he was interacting with them personally. Doug Bradley has recorded new dialogue for the house and it was wonderful to have the actual voice of Pinhead within the walls.
The house takes you on what feels like a never ending journey into the story of the movies. The truth is I didn't want the house to end! The actors were superb from start to finish and the scares were plentiful.
Each year Universal do an incredible job of telling existing IP stories and Hellraiser is the perfect example of this. You can be a complete novice to the movies and still understand the house's plot without it compromising on the frights.
This was a love letter to the movies and it's no surprise to hear that Hellraiser creator Clive Barker sent his own letter of appreciation to the creative team.
If you enjoy the Hellraiser movies, run don't walk to HHN35, they have such sights for you to see!
Overall Verdict:
HHN35 might be the best event Universal Orlando Resort has ever created. This year's houses somehow reached and surmounted the already incredibly high standard set by previous years.
Not one house could be called anything less than excellent. What a year to be a fan of Halloween Horror Nights!
