10 Actors You Didn't Know Are Currently Rocking Out In Bands

8. Jason Schwartzman

Quick, name your favorite Wes Anderson movie. Let me guess, it's the one that stars Jason Schwartzman, isn't it? It would be statistically improbable for that not to be the case, since Schwartzman and Anderson's IMDB pages are nearly identical, both listing Rushmore, The Darjeeling Limited, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Moonrise Kingdom, and The Grand Budapest Hotel. Band: Coconut Records Not content to be everyone's favorite onscreen, idiosyncratic weirdo, Anderson has been involved in several music projects over the years. Actually, he was in the indie band Phantom Planet (known for contributing the theme song "California" to The OC) before he got his first acting role. But once Wes Anderson took whisked him away to Hollywood, Schwartzman left Phantom Planet. He returned to his musical passions a few years later, writing and recording instantly likable, catchy indie rock songs under the name Coconut Records. His knack for writing Weezer-esque anthems with indelible hooks and a touch of playful angst is strong, and his first album, Nighttiming, is a hipster must-hear. To date, he's released just two albums, but Schwartzman promises he's working on new material for a follow-up which, so long as Anderson doesn't get in the way again, should be out next year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZhRSWL0UnQ
