3. Christopher Mintz-Plasse
You know him as McLovin, the bespectacled high school nerd and wannabe badass from Superbad. Sure, Mintz-Plasse has appeared in a wide variety of well-received films since then (Role Models, Kick-Ass, This Is The End, How To Train Your Dragon, etc...), but his first role (and iconically stupid fake name) will follow him around until the day he dies. Band: The Young Rapscallions And he has no issues being McLovin forever, in part because the paycheck he received from that debut role allowed him to purchase his first drum kit and start a rock band with his buddies. The Young Rapscallions started out as most garage rock bands do, jamming along to their favorite albums, but quickly transitioned into an surprisingly talented, briskly-evolving from a Cage the Elephant ripoff into something pure and, honestly, pretty brilliant. Though they consider themselves a blend of Pearl Jam and indie rockers Pinback, much of their sound showcases an obvious Strokes influence with the better bits of Red Hot Chili Pepper's discography. Either description is pretty favorable for a band whose movie star drummer learned to play a couple of years before they released their debut album. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tk6bHLCgrWI
