10 Albums By Famous Musicians That Were Scrapped Before Release

Bowie, Springsteen, Hendrix and more...so many albums we'll never get to hear.

It takes bands and artists so long to write and record a single album (there's generally a couple years between releases at least) that fans often don't understand what's taking so long. How does around an hour's worth of material often take upwards of twenty-four months to put out? But that's reality. It takes a lot of work to write material from scratch. Weeks, months, years €“ whatever it takes. When a musician puts out an album, it becomes a part of their discography forever. They've got to make music videos, do live TV performances, and tour the material €“ so they have to be sure they've got it just right. What this can lead to is self-doubt and sudden realisations, which in turn can lead to the scrapping of entire albums. No matter how promising and exciting material sounds to fans, if the artist doesn't like it, it has to go €“ even if that results in fans forever wondering what they might have missed out on...
