10 Albums By Famous Musicians That Were Scrapped Before Release
6. David Bowie Toy
David Bowie was so productive that he managed to release twenty-seven studio albums over the course of his amazing career, so it's only natural that not everything would make the cut. Nevertheless, the prospect of a twenty-eighth studio release is incredibly tantalizing. Toy was recorded for release in 2001, featuring brand new versions of some of his earlier songs (as well as new material). Bowie had hoped the album would act as a sort of reassessment of some the lesser-known songs from the start of his career. In 2001, Bowie himself told fans on his website that the album was completely finished and ready to go, but that his label EMI/Virgin were experiencing scheduling conflicts and finding it difficult to commit to a release date. In the end, the record was never released, as during this delay Bowie began working on 2002's Heathen. 2011, however, saw the supposed leaking of the album track list. Toy was to feature fourteen songs including Bowie's debut single Liza Jane and his third single You've Got A Habit Of Leaving.
