10 Albums By Famous Musicians That Were Scrapped Before Release
5. Sigur Ros Untitled Album
Sigur Ros are an Icelandic post-rock band who are known for their airy, dreamy sound. Famously, the band sings in a bizarre, half made-up language, a mix of nonsense and Icelandic. Their most famous songs include Glosoli, Hoppipolla and Gobbledigook. After the release of 2008's Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust, the band announced that they were working on a record much slower and more ambient, but incredibly melodic. In 2009, the band revealed that they had practically finished the album, much to fan excitement. And then...nothing. Totally out of the blue, singer Jonsi Birgisson began to back-pedal, claiming the whole thing had been scrapped. Obliquely, he said: we started to record something, but then we chucked it all away. So I think we are going to have to start it all again. This was followed by the rumour that the band were entering an indefinite hiatus. Indeed, there wasn't another studio album from Sigur Ros until 2012's Valtari.
