10 Albums Every Hawkwind Fan Should Own

9. Live Chronicles

Hawkwind Live Chronicles Another live album, this from the Chronicle of the Black Sword tour in the mid 1980s. This one holds special memories for me as it was the tour I managed to see several times (including a free performance!) when I first got into the band; I also read a lot of Michael Moorcock novels particularly the Elric of Melnibone novels on which this album is based. There was a studio album (The Chronicle of the Black Sword) but the live performance was a step up - as usual more tracks introduced to the live set and wonderful performances from everyone including the recently departed Huw Lloyd Langton who (with his wife Marion) wrote some of the tracks including my favourite Moonglum. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nO9CJolNGVM
