10 Albums Every Hawkwind Fan Should Own

8. Live '79

Hawkwind Live 79 Yet another live album, this one is notable as it tends to be the album that a lot of real Hawkfans have even if they don't collect every album. It acts as a marker in the band's complicated line-up history: Dave Brock the Captain though Bob Calvert had gone following a three album run, but Huw Lloyd Langton was back having left after the Isle of Wight gig several years earlier; Harvey Bainbridge was still serving on bass (he would be the keyboard player by the time of Live Chronicles); Tim Blake was on keyboards between working with Gong and Simon King on drums. The set is fantastic. There is a two disc version available but this is not as good. A lot of stand out tracks but the most played on my MP3 player is Tim Blake's Lighthouse. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZ1EGtKtnmY
