10 Albums From Famous Artists NOT On Streaming Services
7. Cher - Not.Com.Mercial
It is rather funny that an album titled not.com.mercial ended up not being on any modern day streaming service.
Originally created after Cher decided to use poetry in her music as a reaction to the death of Kurt Cobain, the album's content is dark for the Believe singer. It's weird as well, featuring David Letterman’s CBS Orchestra providing a brooding soundtrack to Cher’s folk rock. Upon presenting the album to her label, the record was described as being "not commercial".
As a result, Cher held onto the album for six years, took their words and put it proudly as the title. The album was exclusively distributed on Cher’s website in November 2000. Funnily enough, you had to have access to the internet to access this album.
It's a shame it isn’t on streaming services though, as it remained unreleased across Cher's late 90s resurgence. To be fair, it is very un-Cher like and if you hypothetically put a Cher Radio on shuffle, your Mum might not be too pleased with this in the mix.
