10 Albums From Famous Artists NOT On Streaming Services

5. Radish - Restraining Bolt

Some music PR boffins tipped Texan trio Radish to be the next Nirvana, and for a brief period in the mid-90s, the marketing worked. The sugar metal trio toured Europe, and had famous fans including Bruce Springsteen guitarist Nils Lofgren. Their major label bidding war came to an end with Mercury’s Restraining Bolt, and so did their career.

A few minor UK radio hits including the catchy Little Pink Stars was not enough to support another album, or their record contract. Turns out despite what labels believe, teens can't really do grunge. Frontman Ben Kweller was just 15 when this album released, and it pales in comparison from his quality Weezercore-meets-Americana inspired solo career.

Kweller now spends his days touring the US with a pal you might have heard of called Ed Sheeran, while retaining his status as an indie darling with a solid series of studio albums. Kweller is a positive guy and his sunny outlook even shows on Restraining Bolt, so we remain positive that Mercury might part with distribution rights for this album someday to allow us to preserve a brief period of music history for streaming.
