10 Albums From Famous Artists NOT On Streaming Services
4. Pond - Frond
Pond are a psychedelic rock band best known for sharing members with Tame Impala. Their careers have ran in parallel, but Pond have been more prolific and exploratory in terms of genre. Tame Impala's main man Kevin Parker first joined as a touring member for Pond in 2009. Kevin then focussed on his band, as Pond would record their 2010 album, Frond.
Why that LP isn't on streaming services though remains a mystery. According to internet rumours, the band lost the original high-quality files to the tracks. Along with their first two albums, Frond is unavailable to stream. Perhaps the band felt a need to reinvent themselves in a post-Impala world? It is their only release on independent label Hole In The Sky, and Kevin Parker would later attempt to raise the profile of the Perth act by drumming on Frond's follow-up.
It is a shame that Frond is only available on a crap YouTube CD rip with track titles such as The Place Behind A Duck and Mussels Tonight? Pond's tracks are full of synths and textures that deserve to be freed from some Australian record collection somewhere.
If you have the master tapes, do this band a solid.
