10 Albums That Should Have Never Gotten Big

8. Encore - Eminem

Over the years, the Billboard charts have been known to award just as much mediocrity as they do actual good content. Even though you have acts like the Weeknd and Kendrick Lamar having their own flirtations with success, there are other times where artists find themselves on the charts just because of their name recognition. Although Eminem should have been absolutely killing it by the mid '00s, it only took one leak to make everything go wrong.

During the recording for what was supposed to be Em's amazing follow up to the Eminem Show, a lot of the potential tracks from the record got leaked online before the album was even finished. As much as these things happen in music nowadays, Eminem decided that his best course of action was to just fart out any old single to put on the album just to spite his critics.

Although this totally seems like a move Slim Shady would play, the actual execution of Encore is hot garbage, putting songs that are potentially good and sometimes great next to some of the most cornball deliveries he has ever had on record. Though a lot of people point to albums like Revival and Relapse as being the start of Eminem's dark period, the moment when it all went wrong is when he thought that putting something like this out actually worked.
