10 Albums We Waited An Eternity To Get
1. Fear Inoculum - Tool
Wait: 13 Years
Here it is... the meme that started it all. Throughout the '90s and early '00s, Tool were gaining traction as one of the most interesting bands going in the metal scene. Their mix of psychedelia, prog rock, and metal rage resulted in some of the most cerebral releases in metal history like Lateralus and Aenima. The band seemed to be on the cusp of something amazing... but they were gone in an instant.
Shortly after the release of 10,000 Days, the band suddenly went dark, with no real plans for any future albums. It always stings seeing a band you love refusing to put out any new material, but another thing to see them not break up. Make no mistake, these guys were still touring when the time presented itself, but the wait for a new album became more and more stretched. Just when everyone decided to give up hope, the band did the unthinkable in 2019 by dropping "Fear Inoculum" as a single.
With every fan now champing at the bit for new music, Tool finally gave us their new record in August 2019, when they flexed their chops as one of the best prog bands going today. More often than not, bands tend to lose their luster once they return to the stage, but in Tool's case, they made the journey back to prominence look like a walk in the park.
