10 Amazing Artists That Only Have One Album

1. Jeff Buckley

No one album wonder is built the same. Sometimes these records just come out of a fun project that the musicians wanted to do, and most of the time they seem to be capturing lightning in a bottle before realizing that they're better off going their separate ways. Then again, there's always that rare breed of artist that sounds like you're watching a shooting star when you listen to it.

After decades in the public eye, Jeff Buckley's Grace is still a spectacle to listen to, giving you one hook after another and mountains of emotion on every single song. Being one of the more accomplished musicians of '90s rock, Buckley wasn't afraid to sprinkle in some of his musical background into songs, like the weird jazzy chords on Lover You Should've Come Over or turning Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah into one of the most gut wrenching musical experiences ever made.

This is still a rock album though, and the kind of gymnastics that Jeff does with his voice on songs like Mojo Pin and Dream Brother almost sounds like he's trying his hand at a Zeppelin-esque take on hard rock, and more often than not getting away with it. We would never really get to see the potential unfold though, as Jeff would pass away after this record was released in an accidental drowning incident. If it weren't for that fateful night, we could have been looking at the man who was going to show us what the next wave of rock might sound like.
