10 Amazing Cover Songs You Need To Hear

6. Alanis Morissette - My Humps

Alanis Morissette is primarily remembered for one album, Jagged Little Pill, and a handful of songs. This is a shame, because the Canadian singer songwriter actually has a very full and eclectic catalogue of deep, emotionally charged songs that are meticulously constructed. Her cover of The Black Eyed Peas' My Humps, however, might just be the funniest cover ever made (please share in the comments for anything funnier).

Regarded by multiple critics as the worst song ever, My Humps tells the story of a woman seeking fortune by way of her siren-like beauty and allure. It's actually just an Amazon wish list and a woman bragging about her breasts and/or ass, it's hard to tell what humps she's referring to. The Morissette version is a slow piano-led melancholic Tori Amos-inspired anthem on men's desire to capture a woman's attention via material possession due to her enhanced physical qualities. In short the cover is just hilarious; it's so fun to hear an awful song presented in another light and rise above its initial mediocrity.
