10 Amazing Rock Cover Songs You Haven't Heard Before

8. Evanescence - The Chain (Fleetwood Mac)

Although the majority of Evanescence's new material seems to fall under the mainstream radio radar, this mellow and captivating cover of Fleetwood Mac's classic is a must hear.

Originally released by Fleetwood Mac in 1977 as part of their classic, career defining record, 'Rumours', 'The Chain' built a legacy over the years and has maintained it tirelessly until this very day.

Evanescence released this humbling rendition of 'The Chain' in November 2019, as part of their latest album campaign as well as part of the soundtrack for Gears of War 5. Amy Lee's harmonious, almost haunting vocals bring an entirely new perspective to the original song, while also proving that there is so much more to Evanescence's sound than crunching hard rock and metal.

After disbanding in 2012, Evanescence reformed in 2015 and their latest record, 'Synthesis', was released in 2017. If Evanescence can keep this up then maybe they'll be able to bring their mainstream appeal back to life.
