10 Amazing Songs By Terrible Artists

7. For the Movies - Buckcherry

Even with as many genres that the rock sphere has, it feels weird trying to label Buckcherry. Given their dated glam metal pastiches and the smut they put in their lyrics, this is kind of stuff that Steel Panther would write if they weren't in on the joke. Then again, sometimes even the most heinous of acts manage to tug on one heartstring.

Long before the era of 15 and Crazy B*tch became a thing, Buckcherry's debut actually had a decent power ballad with For the Movies. Compared to the usual doofy lyrics that you would get out of them later down the line, a simple song about trying to rekindle a spark with your old flame is oddly mature for them to tackle. It gets especially weird when this is the song that comes after songs like Lit Up and Check Your Head, neither of which are going to go down as the greatest songs ever written or anything.

But there's a strange sense of free spirit in this song. Maybe these two aren't going to work it out or even achieve all of their dreams...but at least they're making an effort and going for broke regardless. If they had continued down this road, who knows? They may have actually stuck the landing.
