10 Amazing Songs That Artists Hate

1. Hey Bulldog - The Beatles

Throughout the career of the Beatles, no one was more down on their material than John Lennon. As albums like A Hard Day's Night and Help! skyrocketed to the top of the charts, Lennon always had hangups about nearly every other song they wrote, claiming they were either pieces of garbage or not half of what he envisioned them to be. Though it's understandable that that rancor goes towards more filler material, Lennon's most venomous words were reserved for the savior of the Yellow Submarine soundtrack.

Not wanting to knock out yet another batch of songs, Hey Bulldog is a leftover that became a classic in the Fabs' back catalog. On the other hand, Lennon's vitriol comes down more to the lyrics of the song than anything else. Being more critical of his lyrical style after the arrival of Bob Dylan, Lennon called most of these words egregious, claiming that he was originally embarrassed to be working on such an awful piece of work when he was just starting a relationship with artist Yoko Ono.

That's selling the song short though, with the backing track being absolutely stellar hard rock and the words being the perfect phonetic structure for the melody to sit on top of. Whereas some songs definitely deserve the scorn they get from their respective artist, this is an overlooked gem that is seriously worth your consideration.
