10 Anticipated Albums Still To Come In 2019
1. Adele
Arguably the world’s most anticipated album, Adele’s fourth effort has been in the works since 2018. It is the follow-up to 2015's 25. Adele has sold over 120 million records since 2008's 19. Her latest effort will probably add about another 40 million in sales.
Expected to be a heartbreaker following her divorce with Simon Konecki, Adele has lived the single life in recent months in California with her kids. She has also befriended The Hunter Games actress Jennifer Lawrence. Adele has not toured since June 2017, so we can't even look towards setlist for clues.
A throwaway comment on James Corden's Carpool Karaoke has hinted that the album may be self-titled, though this was in 2016, years before she had started any real work on it. The Chasing Pavements singer has also been emotionally affected by the deadly Grenfell Tower fire, as it occurred less than a mile from her London home.
Adele’s new album would be a suitable stocking-filler. We know this album will top the charts worldwide, we know this album will be her biggest yet, and we know that it will very likely be called 30.
Reflecting on the last year in her life, Adele posted on Instagram for her 31st birthday that “30 will be a drum n' bass record to spite you”.
I wouldn’t even mind if she wasn’t joking.
