10 Anticipated Albums Still To Come In 2019

8. The Cure

Work continues on the 14th album by goth-rockers The Cure, that will be their first album since 2008’s 4:13 Dream.

The album is being recorded in the same studio that Queen recorded Bohemian Rhapsody. 19 songs have been recorded, and they are said to be long in length. Comparisons will be drawn to the long song length on their legendary 1989 album Disintegration.

The Glastonbury headliners did not play any new material this summer. But Robert Smith’s told the LA Times that the “vocals, which is, as ever, what’s holding up the album”. Perhaps the band are hoping for 2020 to steal the headlines, as they spent the start of the year being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

There are no upcoming band anniversaries for a release to clash with either, so the album may be released as soon as it is completed. The band currently have no scheduled tour dates for November or December, so it may very well be a gothic Christmas release after all.

We wouldn't be surprised if Robert Smith was a scrooge and kept this album from us until 2020, though.
