Smashing Pumpkins are still very much alive and well, even releasing a critically-acclaimed album, "Oceania", in 2012. It seemed like frontman Billy Corgan was channeling the early 90's with the quality of the songs. But as good as the album was, many fans would still like to see the original lineup reform. That will be quite the difficult feat, as bassist D'Arcy has had her share of legal troubles, and drummer Jimmy Chamberlain has also had substance-abuse problems. Corgan doesn't seem like he's the kind of guy to give up on a grudge so easily, so this one doesn't seem likely, but you never know. And he's got several other things on his plate as well, not the least of which is running his own wrestling corporation. Perhaps he will get a whiff of nostalgia, and decide to bring back the lineup that made the world fall in love in the first place. Wouldn't it be great to hear James Iha shred one of those supersonic solos once more?
