10 Artists that Could Headline Glastonbury 2013

2. The Rolling Stones

Stones celebrate first live performance Will they or won't they? Anyone who has been following the progress of Glastonbury 2013 will have seen this question a million times. With ten UK No.1 albums to their name and eight No. 1 singles they would certainly be one of Glastonbury's biggest ever coups. There is always a question of unpredictability that forms around the Stones though. The fact that they have done some shows recently is obviously a good sign however with tickets for these shows being extremely expensive (£100 were the cheapest) it seems that the Stones would come with a hefty price tag. Glastonbury are well known for paying their headliners far less money compared with rival festivals, which could easily form an obstruction for Jagger and Co. Eavis has tried to book the Stones previously; at least once in the Mid-1980s and once fairly recently. It seems that they may well be in negotiations again this year but will the money offered be too low as it has been before? Who knows? It may be a bad omen that The Rolling Stones are not playing Coachella this year as it was assumed that if they played there then they would play Glastonbury too. In 2007 the Rolling Stones played the Isle of Wight Festival and Roskilde for large fees so it is not impossible they will play. As always with the Stones, it just depends on the amount of money they are offered.
