10 Artists That Hate Their Own Albums

1. Let It Be - The Beatles

Once the Beatles broke up, none of them had any intention for the album Let It Be to ever reach the public. Though the band was proud of their famous rooftop concert and some of the lead singles from the project like Get Back and Don't Let Me Down, they figured it would be better to shelve these sessions and work on something even better with Abbey Road. After calling it quits though, their label demanded one more album, and Phil Spector either wrecked or saved the album depending on who you ask.

Known for his traditional Wall of Sound approach, Phil worked his magic on what was mostly a few jams and ballads that they had lying around, to mixed results. While John Lennon thought that the original demos sounded terrible, he was surprised to find out how well Phil put it together. Paul McCartney was not a fan of this record by any stretch, and even sent a personal note to Abbey Road Studios saying that everything should be put back to the way it was and to never have anyone tamper with one of his songs again without his permission.

Even decades after the fact, Paul still felt uncomfortable with the swan song of his old band, releasing Let It Be Naked in the '00s with a completely different song order and mixes that were closer to what he had in mind for some of the songs. There may have been a lot of potential with all of these songs, but it's a shame that the Beatles' final statement will always have some harsh feelings connected to it.
