10 Artists Who HATE Their Own Albums
8. Be Here Now - Oasis
The Gallagher Brothers were never ones to mince words about how they felt about music. Whether it was other bands or their own work, the founders behind Oasis have had more than their fair share to say about how one band is garbage and how they are part of the greatest band in the world. As time goes on though, Noel Gallagher has accepted the utter crap put forth on Be Here Now.
Out of all the band's classic material, Be Here Now is the most misguided effort in their catalog, with very questionable song lengths and turning songs into grand epics that go absolutely nowhere. After the band regrouped in the early '00s, Gallagher has owned up to the fact that the album is the sonic encapsulation of rock stars drunk on their own egos.
Rather than coming from an honest place, Gallagher has stated that most of the songs are just the product of him being high on cocaine in the studio and getting completely burned out. Even when talking about the band's more celebrated efforts like Definitely Maybe and Morning Glory, Noel has said how he had an inspired period of writing songs, with the Be Here Now tracks being just leftovers from that period. Be Here Now isn't going to make anyone's favorite albums list necessarily, but it's no secret that the harshest words have come from the one man present in the studio.
