10 Artists Who Openly Dissed Their Fans
3. Axl Rose Gets Sent Home
Most of the older stripe of rock stars have gotten a little tired of fans holding their phones up at concerts. After all, since you actually paid for a ticket in a fairly pricy seat, why the hell would you want to fill your time livestreaming everything instead of enjoying the show? Gross dad-isms aside though, Axl Rose proved that the photo-centric bashing has been a part of the rock pantheon for some time now.
During the original dates between Appetite for Destruction and Use Your Illusion, Axl started to get more and more annoyed about someone taking photos in the front row, considering that there was a policy to not have cameras at the gig. Midway through Rocket Queen, Axl ushers for the security guards to remove the fan before taking matters into his own hands and lunging off stage before beaming the guy over the head with his own camera.
This only spelled disaster afterward though, as Axl decided to cut the set short after the entire incident, which led to a full on riot once the rest of the band decided to jump ship as well. It's not just some pissed off fans either, with people storming into the grand stands and ripping the seats off of the floor to throw at the stage. Little did we know that this was just the tip of the iceberg for the insane stuff Axl would pull time after time.
