10 Artists Who Refused To Be In The Rock And Roll Music Hall Of Fame

5. Roger Waters

Hey You! Roger, we kinda wish you Were Here at the ceremony. When the 1996 ceremony took place, Roger Waters and bandmate David Gilmour were having their infamous feud.

To put it into context, Waters had withdrawn from the group in 1985 and was trying to take the whole band down with him. Obviously, the band had something to say about this; thus, the lengthy battle between Gilmour and Waters began. Waters had very publicly stated that he would be invoking the "Leaving Member" clause in the band's contract, which would essentially mean that the band would not be able to continue without him. In order to instate this clause, the member leaving the group has to be the main creative force behind the band, meaning that they wouldn't be able to continue without that said member. Waters went on to start a High Court case and attempted to dissolve the band as he believed they were "spent force creatively."

As expected, this didn't go down well, and Waters was met with the wrath of David Gilmour and Nick Mason. Waters eventually put out the fire by agreeing to withdraw his claims. He later stated that this was because the financial repercussions would be devastating for him. The band still don't talk to him to this day and continues to release absolute bangers despite his absence.
