10 Astounding Albums By Landfill Indie Bands Of The '00s

8. Mumm-Ra - These Things Move In Threes

The name is so cheeky it almost makes you want to write them off, but Mumm-Ra is most certainly worth the listen. These Things Move in Threes was released in 2007 to positive reviews, but the band unfortunately chose to go on hiatus in 2008. Having released only a single album, it was certainly sad news for many, but thankfully the band has chosen to reunite relatively recently. Boasting some solid guitar work and a lead singer whose voice reaches just the right amount of earnestness, Mumm-Ra's debut is a solid one, and now it won't be their only release. Like many albums, its best tracks include its singles, in particular, Out of the Question and She's Got You High, the latter of which is almost too adorable. It's a solid pop album, and the emotional quality of James New's vocals made for some surprisingly poignant songs. The album isn't as twee as it initially appears, with tracks like Song B and Sick Deal that offer enough sonic edge to counter the album's softer bits.
