10 Awesome Bruce Springsteen Stories That Prove He's The Boss

3. The Philly Elvis

There are plenty of funny stories, videos and anecdotes in Springsteen and I, but one of the most heart-warming and humorous is the one about the 'Philly Elvis'. Springsteen made yet another fan's dream come true during a concert in Philadelphia in 2009. Diehard Bruce fan Nick Ferraro went to the gig dressed as another one of his idols, Elvis Presley and took with him a sign that said 'Can The King sing with The Boss?'.

When Bruce started singing All Shook Up, Nick felt his dream of twenty years could be about to happen. Bruce pulled Nick up on stage and handed him the microphone, allowing him to continue where he had left off. He even gave it an all-mighty 'hit it Bruce!' to lead Bruce into a guitar solo and segued seamlessly into Blue Suede Shoes. It was a very good move to Bruce, to let this guy live out his dream and steal the spotlight for a little while.

After the song was over, Bruce addressed the crowd and said that he had 'no idea where the f*** he came from' as well as quipping that 'ladies and gentleman, Elvis has left the building...'.
