10 Awesome Music Festivals We Should All Aim To Visit
8. Festival Internacional De Benicassim Spain
Festival Internacional de Benicassim, commonly abbreviated to 'FIB', was first held in 1995 with a line-up inclusive of Supergrass, The Charlatans and The Jesus and Mary Chain. Held in the sun-blessed coastal town of Benicassim (around a 2 hour drive from Barcelona), festival goers have the choice of several beaches upon which to relax over the course of the weeklong event. The intense summer heat which reigns down upon Benicassim each July is behind the events rather peculiar schedule- with the days bands often not starting until the late afternoon, and wrapping up sometime in the wee hours of the morning. Infamous with young party-going types (surprise surprise), Benicassim never fails to confirm a line-up that is both relevant and capable of catering for a multitude of tastes. No-one's yet been announced for this year's festival (things just run at a slower pace down there), though I bet they've already shifted thousands of tickets.
