10 Awesome Rock Bands With One Terrible Album
5. The Weirdness - The Stooges (2007)
It's always a risky business when a much revered band, decides to reunite after decades of inactivity. Between 1969 and 1973, The Stooges released three albums before going their separate ways. Although the group didn't achieve mainstream success - during their heyday - their albums had a monumental effect on the punk and alternative rock groups that followed. Those albums, although shabbily recorded, captured the essence of rebellious rock n' roll.
Iggy Pop went on to have a successful solo career, which turned even more people onto The Stooges - making them something of a cult band. When The Stooges got together decades later, there was a huge buzz. But, as is usual when ancient bands reunite, it didn't really hit the same way. One would expect the sound to have progressed, but without the years to develop together, Iggy and The Stooges sounded like a bunch of old dudes trying to relive their youth.
Having said all that, the group gave it one last effort in 2013 with the album Ready To Die, which was nothing, if not a return to form.
